Former White House official claims secret cities built underground

Catherine Austin Fitts, a former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President George H. W. Bush, has made sensational claims regarding the existence of secret underground cities built by the U.S. government. In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Fitts alleged that approximately $21 trillion in unauthorized federal spending was used to construct around 170 subterranean facilities since 1998. These facilities, she claims, are designed to protect the ultra-wealthy in the event of a near-extinction catastrophe .

Fitts bases her assertions on a 2017 report by Michigan State University economist Mark Skidmore, which identified significant “unsupported adjustments” in the budgets of the Departments of Defense and Housing and Urban Development. She suggests that these discrepancies point to the funding of black budget projects, including the alleged underground cities.

According to Fitts, these underground bases are interconnected through a secret transportation system and are powered by undisclosed “breakthrough energy” technologies. She also claims that some of these facilities are located beneath the ocean around the United States. While the existence of underground military installations like the Cheyenne Mountain Complex is documented, Fitts’ broader claims lack concrete evidence and have been met with skepticism.

Fitts further contends that these subterranean cities serve not only as shelters for the elite but also as sites for covert operations, including a “secret space program.” She argues that the construction of these facilities represents a deliberate decision to divert resources away from public infrastructure and services, leaving ordinary Americans to “deal with the wreckage”.

While Fitts’ background in finance and her investigation into government budget discrepancies lend some weight to her claims, the lack of tangible proof and the extraordinary nature of the allegations have led many to view them as speculative. As of now, no official evidence has been presented to substantiate the existence of such a vast network of underground cities.
