Neal McDonough Says He’s Lost Everything After Hollywood ‘Turned On Him’ For Refusing To Kiss Another Woman

Neal McDonough has claimed he lost everything after Hollywood allegedly ‘turned on him’ for refusing to kiss another woman on screen that wasn’t his wife.

The 59-year-old who is well known for his roles in “Band of Brothers”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Minority Report”, “American Horror Story” and “Suits” has revealed during a podcast interview on “Nothing Left Unsaid” that the industry shut him out following his decision to remain loyal to his wife, Ruvé Robertson.

The couple have been married since 2003 and share five children together.

He said: “I’d always had in my contracts I wouldn’t kiss another woman on-screen,”, “My wife didn’t have any problem with it. It was me, really, who had a problem with it. When I couldn’t do it, and they couldn’t understand it, Hollywood just completely turned on me. They wouldn’t let me be part of the show anymore.”

“For two years, I couldn’t get a job and I lost everything you could possibly imagine,” he added, “Not just houses and material things, but your swagger, your cool, who you are, your identity—everything. My identity was an actor, and a really good one. And once you don’t have that identity, you’re kind of lost in a tailspin.”

The actor has been working in the industry since 1990 and in that time, has worked on many projects, including his most recent venture, the Angel Studios drama “The Last Rodeo” which was released in theatres in May 2025.

The star also appeared on six episodes of “Yellowstone” and seven episodes of “9-1-1: Lone Star”.
